Dealing With Fear

Fear. I’m gonna be honest with you. I have a lot of big dreams for my life…but I have just as many fears that I’m not good enough, that I won’t make a difference in this world, and sometimes I ask if my dreams even matter. I’m not immune to the whispers of the enemy, trying to get you and I to fear failure, trying to stop you and I from stepping into the MORE that God has for us. I literally just wrote my dreams and my fears in my journal, and just recognised that the fear was not actually from God. Not only that, I realised that maybe the point of having such big dreams is that I rely on God to fulfil them, rather than relying on my own strength and own capacity to fulfil them. I actually can’t do any of it without God. And yet the devil knows this and knows that perhaps the very act of stepping boldly into the calling on my life will be the very thing that draws me closer into relationship with Jesus as I rely on him for all that I need every single day. That’s gotta upset the devil. So maybe I’m not immune to fear, but I can choose to ignore the lies, believe that all that God has for me is beyond my wildest dreams or expectations and step into this crazy unknown adventure with Jesus. And so can you.

It’s a Choice

So I wanted to ask, is fear stopping you from bravely and boldly stepping into your dreams and the calling on your life? See, the devil can try telling you lies, but you have a CHOICE whether or not you’re gonna listen. You have a choice whether or not you’re going to believe him. The Bible says that the devil prowls around LIKE a lion, looking for someone to devour. It doesn’t say that he IS a lion. Actually far from it. He actually has no power or hold over your life unless you let him! He can’t actually stop you from doing what God has called you to do unless you choose to listen to all his ridiculous lies.

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you. Now we offer up to God all the glorious praise that rises from every church in every generation through Jesus Christ—and all that will yet be manifest through time and eternity. Amen!  //Ephesians 3:20-11 TPT

What Do I Do When Fear Comes?

There are 365 verses in the Bible that tell us not to fear! So next time fear comes knocking, convincing you that you’re dreams are too big, that your desires are too ridiculous and who are you anyway to think you can accomplish what’s on your heart, you tell fear that your God is bigger. Tell that fear that your God will achieve infinitely more in your life than you could ever dream of. You tell that fear that your God is able, that you are capable and that you’re going to live the big life that God called you into. And maybe you’ll have to step into that dream a little afraid. But the best way to defeat it is to do just that. The more you boldly trust and boldly take steps towards all that God has for you, and the more that you declare God’s truth, the quicker that fear is going to leave.

When fear comes knocking? Don’t open the door.
